December Service Projects at Ronald Knox

Ronald Knox Montessori remembers the importance of kindness and giving back around the holidays.

For 55 years, Ronald Knox Montessori have participated in 3 different service projects around the holiday season.

The annual Toy Drive, encourages students to part with gently used toys to give to their sister school, Lloyd Barbee Montessori, which is part of the Milwaukee Public School system. The students brought these toys to the annual Holiday Sing, where RKMS students put on a holiday show.

As well as donating their toys, the students also participated in bringing in new mittens and hats for the RKMS Mitten Tree. The tree is decorated with hats, scarves, and mittens throughout the month of December and then also donated to the students at Lloyd Barbee Montessori.

The Ronald Knox Montessori students extended their holiday generosity with a third annual event, Singing with the Sisters. The children spread holiday cheer by singing songs and bringing gifts to the nuns of the Sisters of Christian Charity, who helped found RKMS over 50 years ago. The Sisters were not only entertained by holiday song, but given gift bags full of stationary, lotions, tissues, and stamps.
