To Choose A School

So many schools. So many choices. Parents face the challenge of finding the best preschool for their child, but what makes one school stand out among so many others?

Ronald Knox Montessori School has remained committed for over 50 years to following the Montessori philosophy of creating a nurturing, stimulating environment for all students. The environment promotes concentration, coordination, a sense of order, independence, grace and courtesy, and the life skills needed for each child to reach his or her full potential. Parents, faculty, and administrators form a community to foster a lifelong love of learning in children and to promote respect for self, others, and the world around them.

Research has shown that the best predictor of future success is based on a positive sense of self-esteem. RKMS is founded on self-directed, non-competitive activities that aid children in developing strong self-images and the confidence to face challenges and change with optimism.

As one RKMS parent stated : “I look at my son and marvel at the amount he has learned...yes, he's learned a great deal academically but, more importantly, for this age, he has learned how to make a friend, how to keep a friend and, best of all, how to be a friend.  He is eager and excited to go to school. That foundation was established by RKMS.  He developed qualities such as kindness, a sense of order, self-control, a willingness to help and the ability to be respectful in a variety of situations. He’s confident in himself.

Any school can teach your child to read, write, etc.  RKMS has taught my child how to deal, how to handle himself in various situations, how to lead, how to control himself, how to speak up, how to help and how to think of others.   On top of all that, he's receiving a top-notch education.

Like all parents, at the end of the day, I want a happy child.  My child is happy.”

It doesn’t get much better than that.

Located on the North Shore, Ronald Knox Montessori School has been dedicated to serving children ages six months through six years for over five decades, and parents continue to sing its praises. Known as one of the best schools in the area, RKMS received its third accreditation two years ago from the American Montessori Society (AMS). The AMS team felt that the faculty and administration at the school was one of its strongest features; the majority of the faculty has been teaching at the school for most of their careers.

Applications are now being accepted for all programs. RKMS features many different options including: Parent-Child, Toddler, and Primary classes, as well as lunch and numerous enrichment options such as Reading, Writing, and Yoga. Additionally, RKMS is pleased to offer a Toddler Enrichment program, for parents seeking an extended morning program, and Kindergarten Enrichment, for children in the community who attend Kindergarten in the morning.
