Over 50 Years and Still Going Strong!

WILMETTE, IL – For parents and students of Ronald Knox Montessori School (RKMS), the school year has been off to a great start.

On Friday, September 26th, parents enjoyed a beautiful fall evening outdoors together to celebrate the beginning of another school year. The annual Parent Social was held at the home of a current family and over 100 parents attended the event. New RKMS families had an opportunity to get to know each other and their “mentor” families for the first hour and afterward, returning families joined the party. Guests enjoyed wine and craft beer tasting, hors d’oeuvres, and desserts.

The following week, more than 325 enthusiastic children and adults attended the school’s annual Pumpkin Run and Family Fun Fest on Sunday, October 5th at Mallinckrodt Park. RKMS students, siblings, alumni, friends, and neighbors walked, jogged, ran, and skipped their way around a pumpkin patch course. Children also had the opportunity to play games, decorate pumpkins and cookies as well as have their face painted. Families also delighted in eating their picnic lunches in the park together.

For parents interested in learning more about RKMS, an Open House is scheduled for Thursday, November 6 from 9:00 to 11:00am as well as on Tuesday, November 18 from 9:00 to 11:00am. Parents may also contact Anita McGing, Admissions and Marketing Director, at 847 256-2922, extension 19, or via email at This email address is being protected from spambots. About Ronald Knox Montessori School

Since 1963, this parent governed and professionally operated non-profit has dedicated itself to the Montessori educational philosophy. At the heart of our beliefs is the notion that the greatest learning occurs when children are allowed to explore a world of activities under the watchful eyes of competent, Montessori-trained teachers, known as directresses. In this setting, children cultivate concentration, motivation, and self-discipline along with a life-long love of learning, high self-esteem and respect for others and the world around them. Additional information about RKMS can be found at or on the RKMS Facebook page.
