We are learning more and more about COVID-19 and the effects of the virus on people. To counterbalance the daily influx of updates, we are grateful for the glory of springtime in our area. Trees are beginning to bloom, happy daffodils and purple crocuses are emerging from the soil and the morning air is crisp. The daily sunshine reminds us that these days will pass and we shall be together again soon.
We are all thinking about your children every day. RKMS teachers will continue to support your children with remote learning opportunities. Your children will have daily class meetings with their Toddler and Primary teachers. Enrichment teachers will also provide e-learning opportunities for the children in Math/Science/Language as well as Art/Spanish. It is abundantly clear to me the incredible work our teachers are doing in support of your children. They are passionate about their continued partnership with you.
We know that your days are evolving as you find a new rhythm for your daily routines. Becoming experts in the field of juggling work, children and family schedules is no easy task. If you can think like a new teacher, create your flow, live it and review each evening what worked and what needs to be tweaked. Expectations can be modified and personalized to create a more meaningful flow to your family's day. Our students are calm and peaceful when expectations are expressed to them. Remember, whispering creates a quieter atmosphere.
Continuereading, reading, and reading some moreto your children and providing them with many opportunities to be outside! Your children's indoor activities continue to include being near you, which allows you to teach/show your children how they can learn to take care of your home. They desire and need to be responsible since they are successful while they are at RKMS.
Please take care of YOU. It is helpful to be aware of your feelings so that your anxiety is not apparent to your child(ren). Take breaks if you are in need of a quiet moment. Be extra kind to each other while we are all practicing social distancing.
We look forward to providing you more updates as they become available.
