The Ronald Knox community, including our students, families, teachers, and staff, are all interconnected and dependent upon each other to maintain a safe, healthy learning environment during COVID-19. Protecting the Ronald Knox community is a collective effort that takes a personal commitment from each of our families. If we want to continue to be in a position to offer in-person learning, we all must, at a minimum, abide by the guidelines of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), Cook County Department of Public Health (CCDPH) and other government agencies to limit the spread of the virus. Adherence to these guidelines will increase the likelihood that we will be able to continue to maintain in-person learning during the pandemic.

To protect the Ronald Knox community, I pledge to: 

• Follow guidance from IDPH, CDC, and other government agencies to limit the spread of COVID-19, including wearing face coverings, practicing social distancing, and regularly washing hands;

• Notify Ronald Knox about travel to high-risk areas by someone in my household and adhere to CCDPH travel-related quarantine guidance and recommendations;

• Limit social gatherings to small groups and only when proper social distancing can be maintained, avoiding large group gatherings;

• Monitor for symptoms of COVID-19 and report COVID-19 related symptoms to Ronald Knox; and

• Follow applicable quarantine requirements or guidelines from IDPH, CDC, and other governmental agencies, including as a result of travel to high-risk locations; prolonged, close contact with a positive COVID-19 individual; or a positive COVID-19 test result within my household.

I acknowledge that this Community Pledge and other related guidelines issued by Ronald Knox from time to time take precedence over conflicting sections of the school’s existing policies and are subject to change as public health guidance and circumstances related to COVID-19 continue to evolve.
